As many as 53 Houthi and pro-Saleh militants were killed and dozens others were injured in violent clashes with popular resistance forces and the national army in various Yemeni provinces Sunday.
Al Arabiya news channel quoted field sources as saying that 13 Houthis were killed in clashes with the popular resistance forces and the army, while five others were killed when a minefield, that planted, mistakenly went off in Taiz.
Sources said that the Yemeni national army and the popular resistance achieved progress in a front between Khabb wa ash Sha'af and Al Hazm districts of the Al Jawf province.
Pro-Hadi forces regained control on strategic locations there as Houthis flee the field following fierce fighting, the sources added.
The sources said that 10 Houthis were killed during the clashe in Jawf.
Violent clashes also erupted in Beidha province, where five militants were killed and others were injured.
Also, five Houthis were killed and others were injured in Dhamar province.
Three Houthis were killed and others were injured when popular resistance forces attacked their vehicle in Al Hudaydah province.
