Ivorian Souleymane Coulibaly 22-year-old spoke to Arabs Today after has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Al-Ahly SC, after passing a medical test on Monday.
He said: "I know that Al Ahly is one of the biggest clubs in this part of the world and are top of the Egyptian league. This is a club that matched my ambitions in my football career, locally and internationally.
He added: "I need to play hard to prove myself in this great club, as every African player always dreams to join the Red Devils."
Coulibaly pointed out that his agent Lee Payne came to Cairo a few days ago to meet Essam Serag, head of contracting department in Al-Ahly, adding that he also received offers from other Egyptian and African clubs, after the player's agent agreed fees with Al-Ahly, but he believes that the Cairo Giants was the best choice.
Coulibaly continued that he left the African continent when he was 12 years old and started my professional career in Greek Athens SC, after four years he joined English Tottenham Hotspur. In 2015, joined the Scottish Premier League and played for Kilmarnock.
Coulibaly said that Al-Ahly included a number of the most famous African players, adding he always dreamed to play with Egyptian legend Mohamed Abou Trika. He concluded that Al-Ahly Coach Hossam Al-Badri has phoned him and welcomed him to the club, expressing hiss keenness to please the Red Devils' fans in the coming period.
