Barcelona defender Dani Alves has heaped praise on team-mate Cesc Fabregas following the former Arsenal captain's superb start to life with the Catalan giants. Fabregas returned to Barcelona earlier this summer after an eight-year spell in north London and he has not wasted any time in making an impact at Camp Nou, netting once in the 2-0 European Supercup win over Porto as well as playing a part in his side's big La Liga wins over Villarreal and Osasuna. "Fabregas has been doing a great job for us and has already made a huge contribution to the team," Dani Alves was quoted as saying by AS. "It really is an honour to play alongside him. Him and Lionel Messi are a great duo on the pitch, and they have a great connection." The Brazil international also discussed his position on the pitch following the tactical changes made by Pep Guardiola, who fielded a three-man defence in this weekend's 8-0 win over Osasuna, and he insists is happy to play wherever the coach needs him. "I just like to play football, regardless of the position where I'm used," he said. "I just want to play my part and help the team perform. I will always do my utmost in whatever position. It's up to the coach to decide where I'm needed most." Barcelona sit third in the Primera Division table following this weekend's results, having collected seven points from their opening three encounters.
