The ex-Argentina international wore the red and white of the Vicente Calderon outfit during two separate spells in his playing career, and made over 130 appearances for the capital-city side. Despite recently taking on a new role in his homeland and wishing no ill-fate on current trainer Gregorio Manzano, the 41-year-old is eyeing a return to Spain. "I know I'm going to coach Atletico Madrid in the future," the Buenos Aires-born coach told Marca. "Hopefully it will be at the best time for me and the club. However, Manzano is a great coach and he needs time. I cannot think about whether something will happen to him. I do not like to think so. "However, I'm sure that in the future I will arrive at Atletico," he concluded. Atletico have made an inconsistent start to the 2011-12 campaign, and currently sit in 11th place in La Liga.
