Schalke captain Benedikt Howedes insists his side are not getting carried away by their form after winning three games in a week. A 1-0 win over Nurnberg yesterday followed a 2-0 success over Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League in midweek and a 2-1 triumph at Borussia Dortmund in a local derby last Saturday. "We have got to keep our feet on the ground," said Howedes. "It is a nice moment and we are enjoying it, and of course we want to keep this standard up, but we also know there could be small setbacks. We are pleased to have this good week behind us, but now we have to see where we are going." Howedes admitted the pressure of two important fixtures affected the team yesterday, but he claimed it was more psychological than physical. "I think we had the power," he said on his club's website. "What we were lacking was freshness in our minds. "The derby and the game at Arsenal had taken a lot out of us mentally and you could see that. We were all fully motivated and we wanted to win, but sometimes it is not so easy after two such demanding games. "That makes us all the more happy to have beaten Nurnberg. This crowns our derby win last weekend." From fifa
