Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez says he is not worth the reported €40m it would take to buy him out of his contract with the Basque club. The 23-year-old has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester City and Barcelona among others after some impressive performances for Athletic. However, he does not expect anyone to be willing to match the reported buy-out clause in his contract. "I do not think there's anyone who wants to pay so much for me," he told Mundo Deportivo. "I see it as too much money for me. I don't think I'm worth €40m." Martinez, who has helped Athletic into the last 16 of the UEFA Europa League and to within a point of fourth place of the UEFA Champions League qualification places in La Liga, is flattered by the attention he has received. "These things are always going on in the world of football," he added. "Although it is very nice to be talked about in the newspapers, it is a product of what you are doing and says you're doing things right."
