Eden Hazard has told the official Chelsea newsletter the side wants to bounce back from defeat in our last game with victory at Everton on Saturday.
We were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace in our last game before the recent international break, and now return to Barclays Premier League action in search of a vital three points against a side that has experienced mixed fortunes so far this season.
The Toffees are yet to win at home having drawn against Watford and been beaten by Manchester City, while they drew 0-0 at Tottenham in their last league outing.
Hazard expects a typically tough encounter at Goodison Park, but knows the significance of a victory.
‘Saturday’s game is very important for us because we lost the last game against Crystal Palace and we want to be back winning games, to give confidence for the fans, for us, and of course we need the three points,’ said the Belgium international.
The Chelsea No.10 scored the winner in their game in Cyprus on Sunday, following up a penalty past Asmir Begovic in last Thursday’s 3-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina.
While on international duty, he had the chance to speak with Everton’s Belgians Romelu Lukaku and Kevin Mirallas about Saturday’s game.
‘I spoke to the Belgian Everton players, and of course they want to beat us, it is normal,’ said the 24-year-old. ‘We beat them twice last season, we are the champions, and they are at home so there are many reasons why they want to win, but we know what we have to do and we will be ready.
‘It is difficult to play at Everton and win, but if we can do the same as last season in that crazy game, the 6-3, it would be good for us. And it would help us take some revenge from the game we lost against Crystal Palace.’
