The Arab League (AL) is to host the seventh edition of the Sheikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for Volunteer Work on September 14 at its headquarters in Cairo, a statement issued by the AL's Department of Civil Society Organizations said.
Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit said that hosting this event highlights the AL's support for civil society and volunteer organizations, pointing out that voluntary work contributes to strengthening Arab ties.
Established in 2009 by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Isa award honors the prominent figures who contribute to volunteer work across the Arab world, promoting the culture of volunteering and underlining its role in developing Arab societies.
