Arab Parliament Speaker Meshaal al Salmi renewed the parliament call for fully lifting unilateral US sanctions imposed on Sudan.
This came in a statement by Salmi after a US decision to extend its sanctions for three months despite Khartoum had met all its pledges agreed on earlier between the two countries.
The Arab Parliament hailed as "vital" the role played by Sudan in fighting terrorism, as it was a member in an Islamic military coalition for fighting terrorism, led by Saudi Arabia.
Salmi said he would discuss this issue with US House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan during his planned visit to Washington in September.
