Manama - Arab Today

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, today received a delegation from the US Congress.
The two sides reviewed the close ties, cooperation and coordination between the two friendly countries as well as the latest developments in the region.
The Undersecretary stressed the importance of strengthening the constantly growing strategic Bahraini-US partnership in various fields, noting that the strong historical relations and joint interests between the two allies are based on robust foundations.
He pointed out the national achievements witnessed by various fields under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, ascribing the national gains to the Kingdom's adoption of comprehensive reforms, sustainable development and protection of human rights.
"Bahrain is making steady steps towards a brighter future in light of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 and the development successes made by the government as international indices and reports have attested," he said.
He also touched on Bahrain's efforts in maintaining regional security and stability, stressing the need to develop a comprehensive international perspective to combat terrorism in all its forms, dry out its funds and resources and combat the theocratic ideology.
He explained that interference in the states’ internal affairs through supporting terrorism poses a serious challenge to stability in the region.
The US delegation praised the progress taking place in Bahrain in all fields.
