Bill on National Council for Human Rights finished

Minister of Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Magdy el Agaty said that his ministry finished formulating the draft law on the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR).

He further underlined that abusing Minya woman is a criminal incident and will be investigated.

These remarks came during the minister's participation at the meeting of the Parliament's Human Rights Committee under MP Mohamed Anwar el Sadat.

El Agaty underscored that the bill was prepared in coordination with the NCHR, noting that it provides guarantees to the council pertaining to impartiality and independence.

Concerning the abuse committed against the Minya woman, the minister reiterated that he met with the prosecutor general two days ago and discussed the incident.

El Agaty further said that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
