The Cairo Criminal Court has decided to refer the papers of seven members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB), earlier sentenced to death, to the Mufti of Egypt.
The decision is a routine legal procedure before the execution of the convicted elements.
The court will announce the final verdict on July 17 following receiving the Mufti's opinion.
The defendants face charges of killing a child and attempting murder of others using guns during participating in a demonstration in Giza's Omrania in 2013.
The general prosecution referred the perpetrators to the criminal court after accusing them of blocking the road and possessing arms without licenses in November 8, 2013.
They also committed acts of thuggery and destroyed public facilities.
