Supporters of former chief of the U.N. nuclear inspector and Egyptian presidential candidate, Mohamed el-Baradei were surprised at Manshia Youth Center cancelling the seminar ‘How to participate in upcoming elections’ an hour before the beginning of the event without any clear reason. Organizers of el-Baradei’s electoral campaign said they were surprised the head of the canter called to tell them the seminar is cancelled. There were also claims the head of the center was transferred to investigation because he approved to hold the seminar. The organizers obliged to continue and hold the seminar in a hall near the center. Deputy director of Al-Ahram’s center for political and strategic studies, Wahed Abdul Majid, criticized such violations after the Egyptian January 25 Revolution. “Remnants of the former regime and members of the dissolved National Democratic Party (NDP) are still in control of the national council for youth,” Abdul Majid said. He assured quick and decisive changes must be taken to prevent domination of forces, against the Egyptian January 25 Revolution, on governmental organizations. Abdul Majid said an upcoming parliamentary election is the last chance for the revolution to achieve change. He added the way to operate the transitional phase supported these forces. It is worth mentioning members of el-Baradei’s campaign accused Ain Shams University of canceling their seminar inside the university. The university seminar aimed to raise political awareness for students and the university denied. In related news, el-Baradei’s campaign organized a protest in Talaat Harb Square for Thursday November 3 in solidarity with Egyptian presidential candidate and founder of Al-Gahd Party, Ayman Nour.
