Candidates running in the forthcoming by-elections are being urged to report to the Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry and get updated on rules governing election propaganda. Jurisprudence Chief and by-elections executive director Abdulla bin Hassan Al-Buainain also called upon the candidates to liaise with the ministry in organizing events outlining their electoral programmes and reaching out to voters in the constituencies. He stressed the importance of campaigning in a framework of honest competition and civilized means to reflect the democratic and reform march initiated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. "The electoral campaigning procedures are regulated by the ministerial edict 77 for 2006, amended by the ministerial edict 42 for 2010", he said. He pointed out the desire of the By-elections High Committee to allow candidates the longest time possible to reach out to voters in their respective constituencies. He also stressed the necessity for candidates to read the booklet which was distributed during the registration period at the supervisory centres as it features the rules and regulations governing election campaigning
