The Eygptian Forces have brought a fire at a natural gas pipeline under control after a section of the pipeline supplying gas to Israel and Jordan was blown up at dawn Monday, in the ninth attack on the energy link since January 2011. According to witnesses, a section of the gas pipeline west of al-Arish in the Sinai exploded, and then a second blast damaged the pipeline about 100 meters away, Egyptian state news agency (MENA) reported. The incident occurred in the al-Sabeel area. Security sources said the explosions were detonated from a distance and that tracks from two vehicles were found in the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. (QNA) LY
