Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashed al-Zayani met Wednesday at his office in Riyadh with the United Nations envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould al-Cheikh Ahmed, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
During the meeting, they discussed the latest political, security and humanitarian developments in Yemen, including the efforts being exerted by the UN envoy to restore the political process in Yemen according to the GCC initiative, outcomes of the national dialogue conference and UN resolution no. 2216.
Meanwhile, the UN envoy briefed the GCC secretary general on the details of the initiative he is offering as regards al-Hodeida port.
The meeting was attended by a number of GCC senior officials.
