International Cooperation and Investment Minister Sahar Nasr discussed on Sunday with Health Minister Ahmed Emad el Din ways of providing funds to develop 20 healthcare units in different governorates.
Nasr, during a meeting with the health minister, said her ministry attaches importance to developing health sector to guarantee better services to all citizens, especially in needy areas.
She called on investors to pump more money in the health sector.
The health minister, meanwhile, lauded the International Cooperation and Investment Ministry's efforts to boost the health sector.
He briefed Nasr on the progress realized in the project to develop 1,140 medical units in five governorates, namely Qena, Assiut, Minya, Sohag and Beni Suef.
The 75-million-dollar project is financed by the World Bank, he said, adding that the ministry has already received the first tranche.
Nasr said she will coordinate with the WB to receive the next tranches to finalize the project on due time.
