The Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC) denied reports fanned in media and social networking websites about the existence of poisonous pesticides in fruits such as watermelon and peach which might poison citizens.
In a report issued on Wednesday, the IDSC said that it contacted the Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry which said that the news are bare of truth, adding that fruits are safe and do not have any negative effect on the citizens' health.
The ministry urged the citizens and media to be accurate in carrying news so as not to harm Egypt's exporting activities and cause confusion to the public opinion.
