The Undersecretary of Regional and GCC Affairs at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Ambassador Waheed Mubarak Sayyar, chaired here today the coordination meeting for the implementation of the outcomes of the GCC-UK Summit.
Representatives from the Royal Court, the First Deputy Prime Minister’s Office, Ministry of Interior, Bahrain Defense Force, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Ministry of Labour and Social Development, and Economic Development Board, as well as the British delegation led by UK Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin, and including representatives from UK Foreign Commonwealth Office, Ministry of Defence and Department for International Development.
The Meeting discussed the outcome of the GCC-UK Summit that was held in the Kingdom of Bahrain on 6 - 7 December 2016, and also reviewed a number of issues of common interest covering political, security and defence, economic, and trade cooperation, in addition to ways and means to combat terrorism.
The two sides expressed their satisfaction with the progress of the enduring strategic partnership between GCC bloc and UK and reaffirmed the importance of this partnership in attaining peace, security and stability of the region.
