It is now more than 21 years since the brutal Saddam invasion and occupation of Kuwait and the fate of many of the 600 Kuwaiti and other POWs is still unknown. The POWs, men, women, children, and elderly, were snatched from Kuwait's streets and homes by the Iraqi forces when they invaded the country on August 2, 1990. All calls and appeals by Kuwait and other states, as well as world organizations, have so far failed to establish their whereabouts or ascertain their fate. Only 236 remains were found and identified so far.Since the invasion, the families of the Kuwaiti POWs have been suffering and yearning to lay their loved ones to rest, since they could not be reunited with them.
