Israeli soldiers arrested six Palestinians searched on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activity overnight into Wednesday in the West Bank, the Israel Defense Forces press service reported.
"During the night army units with support from police, border police and the Israel Security Agency (Shabak) arrested six Palestinians in the West Bank searched on suspicion of involvement in terrorist activity and participation in mass terror and violent disorders targeted against Israeli civilians and soldiers," the military said in a statement. The army added that all the detained were transferred to the Shabak counter-intelligence service for questioning.
The situation in the Israeli-Palestinian confrontation zone escalated in September 2015. Since then, more than 50 Israelis and several foreigners have been killed as a result of 400 attacks with the use of cold and artillery arms, explosives and car collisions in Israel and in the West Bank.
