Jordan's Permanent Mission at the United Nations, in cooperation with the Irish mission, held last night, a consultative meeting in preparation for the high-level General Assembly meeting on "large movements of refugees and migrants," which will be held in New York in September.
The President of the UN General Assembly, Mogens Lykketoft, had appointed Jordan's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Dina Kawar and the Permanent Representative of Ireland to the United Nations, David Donoghue, as September meeting's moderators.
Kawar said immigration is topic of interest to all countries in one way or another, and Jordan is one of the countries that have suffered from the effects of the refugees issue.
This meeting is part of series of consultative, open, transparent and inclusive meetings with UN member states.
