Kuwait joined members of the Human Rights Council in their unanimous agreement on offering technical aid to Yemen and help the nation in the realm of human rights. Ambassador Dhera Razzougi, the permanent delegate of Kuwait at the UN, said Kuwait as a member of the GCC backed the member states of the council in their efforts for bolstering peace and security in Yemen. A council resolution urges the Yemeni warring parties to consider recommendations included in a report by the higher commissioner for human rights, and called on all the groups in that country to back the government decision hold independent and transparent investigations about human rights violations. The resolution condemns all forms of human rights breaches in Yemen, hails the Yemeni government pledges to bolster these rights and calls on the commissioner to coordinate with donor nations to aid the government in Sanaa in this respect. It also stipulates that the commission will prepare a report to be submitted to the council 19th session about development of the human rights status in Yemen. Kuwait, along with other council member states, approved renewal of the mandate of the council human rights expert regarding conditions in Sudan, late on Thursday. The Gulf state also backed these countries' unanimous stance to the issuance of a recommendation to the UN General Assembly to lift suspension of the membership of Libya in the council, effective the current session.
