MP Mario Aoun on Wednesday called on Progressive Socialist Party leader, Walid Jumblatt, to "calm down because the country could no longer take any setbacks and tension."
Interviewed by the Voice of Lebanon radio station, MP Aoun mainly criticized Jumblatt's "high tone and continues attacks against the Free Patriotic Movement, the convent, and its ministers."
"We will not sit idle before any position that will be taken against us. We will respond with the same maliciousness that is being used against us," he added.
However, MP Aoun made clear that relations with the deputies and ministers of the Progressive Socialist Party were good on the personal level, hoping that things would calm down to pave the way for better political engagement between political parties.
