Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Tuesday in a chat with the UN accredited reporters "that the issue of Lebanon's share in financing STL will be examined during the upcoming weeks." Mikati also affirmed that Lebanon will be the sole damaged party if there was no funding and Israel will be the beneficiary of such an act especially that is takes the non-implementation of Lebanon to STL engagements as an alibi for its constant violations to 1701. "STL has become a fact and noted on it ought to be documented and presented before the UN so that an amendment of the tribunal's establishment decision be done," Mikati said. In his response to a question, Mikati said he will be visiting Syria to tackle borders' demarcation issue. Pertaining to the Syrian people's deposits in Lebanese banks Mikati said no problem has ever occurred regarding this issue. "Lebanese banking sector is the backbone of the country and no Lebanese bank would act against international will," he affirmed.
