Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill affirmed determination to continue to provide help for the Syrian people to restore security and stability to all the Syrian territories.
Meeting Grand Mufti of the Syrian Arab Republic Ahmad Badereddin Hassoun in Moscow on Tuesday, Patriarch Kirill said “We are ready to continue to enhance the reconciliation process among different representatives of the Syrian society, and the participation of Muslim and Christian clergymen in this process is very important.”
The Patriarch referred to the active participation of the Russian church and the Russian Muslims in providing humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.
He indicated that terrorists are distorting the main principles to cover their crimes “therefore, we must confront them on the intellectual level.”
He asserted the necessity of eliminating the remnants of terrorists’ hotbeds in Syria and restoring security and stability to all the Syrian territories.
For his part, Hassoun said that Syria fights terrorism on behalf of the whole world as terrorists came to it from about one hundred states.
The Mufti said that most of the countries didn’t understand what took place and they didn’t understand that if these terrorists succeed in Syria, they will expand their activities to all countries of the world.
Hassoun expressed the Syrian people’s appreciation of Russia’s stances and the help it has provided to them, in addition to its standing by them in the face of the terrorist war launched against their country.
In an interview with SANA correspondent in Moscow, Hassoun said that the goal behind the visit is to thank the Russian people, leadership and institutions for their standing by Syria in the face of terrorism.
He affirmed that Syria will never forget all friends who have stood by it and will never forget those who tried to undermine it.
Hassoun added that Syria reached the final stage of eliminating terrorism and achieving the final victory in the war launched against it.
