Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Friday ordered the governors to tightly follow up the situation of transport tariffs in the various governorates.
The increase in transport tariffs must not exceed 10 to 15 percent after the fuel price hike, the prime minister said.
The premier paid a visit to the Central Operations Room of the Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC), where he contacted the governors of Ismailia, Menoufiya, Qalubia, Qena, Dakahlia, Beni Suef, Sharqiya, Beheira, Giza, Fayoum, and Damietta via a video conference network.
The governors said meetings were held with bodies concerned to specify new tariffs that would be labelled on all transport vehicles to prevent drivers from exploiting the passengers.
Ismail also reviewed the availability of the fuel and the supply commodities with the quantities needed in all governorates.
He also checked on the measures taken in Beheira governorate to cope with the rainy season.
