A four-year-old Algerian boy was killed on Monday afternoon along Buheira Corniche when he was run over by a police vehicle. The Operations Control Room at Sharjah Police said the accident took place near Khalid Lagoon, in Al Majaz area, and that when an ambulance arrived at the scene, the toddler had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. Police explained that the boy was hit by a police vehicle that was transporting the Ramadan cannon with a trailer, which was driving towards Al Qasba Bridge. Through the investigation, police discovered that the toddler was left unattended and ran in front of the car. The child slipped, and was subsequently run over by the police vehicle where he was then killed immediately due to the impact. Sharjah Police urge families to take care of their children and not to leave them unattended on the streets. Construction accident Meanwhile, an Asian worker died while eight others were injured after a scaffolding at a construction site in Eisa area of Umm Al Quwain collapsed yesterday, according to the police. The accident took place inside the compound of the Umm Al Quwain police headquarters.
