Mr. Sami Ben Slama, member of the Independent Higher Authority for the Elections (IHAE), said Monday the delayed announcement of the National Constituent Assembly (NCA) elections' preliminary results is due to "the difficulty of manual counting." In a statement to TAP news agency, Mr. Ben Slama specified that the IHAE "did not resort to mechanical counting as it could undermine credibility and transparency of the results." The results made public by some media and social networks "are in conformity with the law" since the legal proceedings of the counting operations are on display at the polling stations, he added.
