Qatar's population rose 1% in october

Qatar's population increased as of Oct 31 to 1722516, rising by 1% against the previous month and by 12% compared with the same month in 2008.The figure included 1276976 males and 445540 females. According to data published by Qatar Statistics Authority on its website the figure included Qataris and expatriates residing in Qatar, excluding Qataris who were outside the country when the census was conducted. The population of Qatar represents about 0.02% the world''s 7 billion people.
