President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived here on Thursday to attend the final stage of a maritime drill codenamed "Zat el Sawari".
The multi-mission frigate Tahya Misr (meaning Long Live Egypt), will be commissioned during the maneuvers.
The frigate, that was handed over to Egypt by France, is able to respond to all types of air, marine, submarine or land threats.
The drills include several military exercises including securing the range of naval forces, transport lines and maritime movement.
