A small oil spillage was discovered near Qaruh Island in Kuwait on Friday, and ships owned by the Kuwait Oil Company have managed to contain the situation, said Essam Al-Ghanim, Minister of Oil of Kuwait.
In a statement to the Kuwaiti News Agency, KUNA, Al-Ghanim added that an air sortie was carried out to determine the presence of pollutants near the Kuwaiti Island.
According to KUNA, Al-Ghanim stressed that the sortie was undertaken after satellite images showed a possible spillage near Qaruh while affirming that everything was under control.
