The number of Hepatitis C patients who registered to receive the (HCV) drug Sovaldi for treatment has reached 120,000 since the launch of a new website on Thursday for that purpose, Health Minister Adel Adawi said on Friday.
In statements, the minister said that 90 percent of those who registered are Egyptians from homeland and 10 percent are Egyptian expatriates living in various countries including the United States, Canada, Saudi Arabia, UAE and India.
"The website is working smoothly around the clock without any technical failures," the minister said.
The website allows patients to register with their full names and a valid ID number so that in a period of 24 hours they can find the nearest medical center to receive treatment.
