A regional medical emergency center has been established in the Red Sea city of Sharm el Sheikh to offer the best medical service, Health Minister Adel Adawi said on Tuesday.
The ambulance center has a fully-equipped operations room that is connected to the operations center and crisis management unit in Sinai, Adawi said as he accompanied Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab during the inauguration of the center.
The center is built over an area of 3,556 square meters at a total cost of 33 million pounds, the minister added.
It was built in 20 months, he noted.
A regional training center was also established, Adawi said, adding that it has multi-task training rooms.
Mahlab is in Sharm el Sheikh to follow up preparations for the economic conference, slated for March 13-15.
The prime minister had spoken highly of efforts exerted by the Health Ministry to prepare for the conference, as well as the potentials of the new emergency center.
