Jennifer Lopez says Ben Affleck caused her first real heartbreak.
The 45-year-old singer dished on the 42-year-old actor and more in her new memoir, True Love. Lopez and Affleck got engaged in November 2002, and the singer was crushed when they called off their engagement three days before the wedding in September 2003.
"Ben and I split up at the moment when I thought we were committing to each other forever," she related. "It was my first real heartbreak, it felt like my heart had been torn out of my chest."
Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd, and immediately got involved with Marc Anthony after she and Affleck broke up in January 2004. The couple would go on to wed six months later, and the singer admitted the relationship may have been a quick fix in hindsight.
"My way of anesthetizing the pain was different," she shared. "I sought out comfort in another person, tried to find someone who could make me feel loved and wanted in my loneliest hour ... Marc came back into my life three days after I should have been at the altar."
Lopez and Anthony married in June 2004, and finalized their divorce in June 2014. Lopez has since dated Casper Smart, while Anthony is currently engaged to Shannon De Lima. Affleck has been married to Jennifer Garner since June 2005.
Lopez released her eighth studio album, A.K.A., in June, and debuted True Love on November 4.
