Jennifer Aniston addressed the never-ending gossip that follows her ever since she split from actor Brad Pitt in 2005 and said stories about her old relationship are not really "painful."
The 45-year-old actress opened up about the tabloid rumors during an interview with CBS's Lee Cowan that aired Sunday. When asked if she understood "the appetite" for gossip about her life, the former Friends star said she did not.
"The fact that it still follows you around -- I mean, I'm divorced. It's gotta be painful. I mean, I don't like it when people bring it up. But people still do, right?"
Asked if she remained in contact with Pitt, the actress said they speak, but not on a daily basis.
"We've exchanged good wishes and all that sort of stuff to each other, but not a constant thing," she said. "I mean, do you talk to your ex-wife?"
Aniston, who is currently engaged to actor Justin Theroux, was interviewed by CBS about her SAG Award-nominated part in the upcoming drama Cake.
"It feels like there's some page is about to turn, and it could just be closing of a book, or it could be a new chapter -- who knows?" the actress said of her Oscar-buzz generating role. "I just know that for me personally, I did something for myself that was important."
Cake opens in theaters on Jan. 23.
