Political solution to settle Syrian crisis

Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri said the political solution is considered the best way to settle the Syrian crisis as developments have proven that none of the parties can resolve this crisis by force.
During an interview with CNN, the minister said Egypt supports the Iraqi people and stressed the need to maintain the unity of Iraq.
Regarding Iran's regional role, he said many parties have interests and have shown a wish to influence developments in Iraq and given the geographical position of the country, Iran is considered one of the current players on the Iraqi arena.
As for relations with Qatar, Shukri said they are tough. Egypt has always supported its regional relations with the Arab states.
Commenting on the latest verdicts against Aljazeera correspondents in Egypt, he said there is a wrong image on what is going on in Egypt and this image should be changed. All measures were taken in conformity with the Egyptian judiciary and the law should be respected.
