Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab stressed on Monday that the government is exerting strenuous efforts to curb the price hikes.
Mahlab made the remarks during a forum of Egyptian students of university and institutes, which was held in a leadership management center in southern Cairo.
Mahlab spoke about a newly-approved civil service law, saying that the legislation is aimed at drawing up rules to evaluate the employees and guaranteeing their commitment to the job standards.
"The law stipulates the necessity of announcing the job vacancies and holding fair competitions," he stressed.
Asked about the government's efforts to face unemployment, he said "addressing the problem should be through development."
He also highlighted the government's efforts to improve the health sector in Egypt.
He tackled the complaints of Aswan residents about dumping waste of Kima project into the Nile River.
"Measures have been taken in this regard and the disposal of waste in the Nile water will end soon," he asserted.
The premier noted the ongoing efforts to fight corruption in the state institutions, stressing that any corruption case is referred to him for investigations.
