The head of a Kuwaiti-based charity and UN Humanitarian Envoy Abdullah Al-Maatouq said that the contributions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah have given hope to many poverty-stricken people worldwide.
Al-Maatouq, International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO) chief and also Amiri Diwan Advisor, made the comments after handing His Highness the Amir a medal of honour, granted to him by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The second UN honouring in a row comes in recognition of His Highness the Amir's exceptional efforts in the field of humanitarian work around the world, and was announced in the attendance of 166 nations and 75 global organisations, according to Al-Maatouq.
His Highness the Amir has already been honoured by the UN at a ceremony where he received the unprecedented title of "humanitarian leader" from Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
The title was granted in appreciation of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait's role in the field on the global scale.
