Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhri Abdel Nour asserted that the new Suez Canal project will be inaugurated on August 4 as President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has pledged.
The blueprints of Suez Canal Axis Development Project and the development of six ports will be reviewed in the economic conference due to be held next month in Sharm el Sheikh, Abdel Nour told MENA within his visit to France to promote economic conference.
He also pointed out that economic and social reform is linked with prevailing security in the region and eliminating terrorism.
The new investment law will be raided on Wednesday to the cabinet, Abdel Nour said, adding that the new law, that aims to attract investors, will be issued within the coming two weeks.
Meanwhile, Abdel Nour said he discussed with French Finance Minister Michel Sapin ways of boosting bilateral relations in trade and economy fields as well as encouraging French companies in participate in the economic conference as well as the European countries' stance towards combating terrorism.
They also discussed means of establishing joint projects in transportation, infrastructure, power, petrochemicals, fertilizers, mining and other fields.
