Khartoum - Arab Today

The Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North sector (SPLM-North) is to blame for the deadlock in negotiations with Khartoum to rescue those harmed in the Blue Nile and South Kordofan states, an assistant to the Sudanese president has said. Ibrahim Ghandour told Sudan's "Al Rai Al Aam" newspaper Monday that negotiations with the SPLM-North was like "a dialogue of the deaf". The SPLM-North has been stern in the talks about the Blue Nile and South Kordofan, Ghandour said. The file will be referred to the African Peace and Security Council, Ghandour said, hoping that the PSC would hold the SPLM-North committed to the agendas of both sides of the dialogue. Hopefully, the PSC would do the Sudanese government justice, Ghandour said, reminding that Khartoum had been seeking peace and had offered all it could to achieve that. He said Khartoum is fully committed to the comprehensive ceasefire and to security arrangements to rescue those harmed. The other party just wants to extend wars, Ghandour charged. Source: MENA
