Manpower Minister Gamal Sorour said Monday that efforts to settle a conflict between the administration of the Five Star Flour Mills in Suez City and 750 workers were successful.
An agreement has been reached to grant all workers the value of a one-month salary at a maximum of 2,000 pounds, Sorour said.
The workers will thus receive an additional bonus to be added to their shares of the 2014 profits, he added.
The workers had already received the value of a 14-week salary as part of their shares, the minister made it clear.
The additional bonus is not included in the endorsed budget of the company, he noted.
It has also been agreed to offer all workers a 10-percent raise that should not be less than 150 pounds and not more than 500 pounds, Sorour further said.
Under the agreement, the company should also reconsider its decision to refer eight of the workers to a disciplinary panel, he added.
The minister thanked the administration and workers for responding to the efforts to settle the problem.
