The strategic reserves of wheat in Egypt are sufficient till mid February, Supply Minister Khalid Hanafy said Wednesday.

Yesterday, Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities signed contracts to import 235,000 tons of wheat from Russia and Romania for subsidized bread.

About 115,000 tons of Russian wheat and 120,000 tons of Romanian wheat will be purchased at an average price of 210.37 US dollars per ton.

Egypt imports wheat from many countries such as Russia, US, France, Argentina, Canada, depending on the quality and lowest prices, Hanafy said.
