At least one person was killed, six others injured in twin grenade attacks at a restaurant in Burhakabo town in Bay region of southwest Somalia on Saturday night.
Governor of Burhakabo, Mohamed Abdi Nor told journalists on Sunday that Al-Shabaab militants are believed to have carried out the bomb attacks.
Nor said security forces are pursuing two men who hurled the grenades into the restaurant.
"The attack happened at a restaurant in the center of the town last night, one person died and six others wounded, two seriously injured. The injured were rushed to hospitals in Baidoa town for treatment. The perpetrators escaped from the scene, but police are pursuing two men who were behind the attack," Nor told reporters.
The governor added that all attack victims were civilians sitting outside the restaurant near main branch of Hormuud Telecommunication Company.
Burhakabo town is about 200 kilometers to the southwest of Somali capital Mogadishu and was among key towns liberated from Al-Shabaab militants in early 2015.
Social gatherings like restaurants and bars have come under severe attacks from Al-Shabaab terrorist group recently.
