China has called on japan to resolve the controversial Diaoyu islands issues through dialogue, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesman, Hong Lei, said . The remarks came in commenting on a report stating that Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda will send a special envoy to China pertaining to this concern. The spokesman said, in a regular press conference, relayed by Chinese news agency (Xinhua) Friday that the Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islets are China’s inherent territory, a fact supported by historical and jurisprudential evidence. “Japan’s moves infringed upon China’s territory and sovereignty and are illegal in terms of international law.”, (Xinhua) quoted him as saying. The spokesman, however insisted that the controversial issue on the island should be solved through dialogues and negotiations stressing, meantime, that China will maintain communications with the Japanese sides at all levels while clarifying their own stance on Diaoyu island issue.
