EU deplores killing of Kosovo official

EU High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy, Catherine Ashton, Thursday deplored the killing of Dimitrije Janicijevic, municipal councillor of Mitrovica North, in northern Kosovo on Tuesday. Ashton expects a swift investigation into the killing so that the perpetrators are brought to justice. Any use of violence is completely unacceptable, her spokesman Michael Mann said in a statement tonight. According to media reports, Janicijevic was shot dead outside his home late Tuesday night. The motives of the murder remain unknown
