Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General asserted Friday that his party "will stay involved in the Syrian conflict" after having helped Syrian government forces recapture the strategic al-Qussair city. "Where we need to be, we will be," Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said in a televised speech, noting that they are defending Syria and Lebanon. Hezbollah has come under criticism for reportedly fighting on the side of the Syrian government against rebels in the al-Qussair area and in Damascus' suburbs. Nasrallah slammed international powers' attempt to label Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, saying "This will only strengthen our conviction that we're on the right track." As for the recent deadly clashes outside the Iranian embassy in Beirut, Nasrallah said the incident was "unacceptable." Supporters of Hezbollah and demonstrators protesting against the involvement of Iran and Hezbollah in the Syrian crisis clashed on Sunday outside the Iranian embassy, leaving one person killed and at least 11 others injured.
