Palestinian Prisoners Club revealed that Israel detains in its jails some 7,000 Palestinian prisoners, including 70 women and more than 400 children.
The club said in a press statement on the occasion of Palestinian Prisoner Day, which is observed today, that the Israeli occupation forces arrested since the beginning of October of last year 4,800 Palestinians, including 1,400 children and minors, mostly from Jerusalem and Hebron, KUNA News Agency reported on Sunday.
It pointed out that the occupation forces seek to impose sanctions and restrictions on the Palestinians through legislating a stiff law, especially against the prisoners movement, noting to the Israeli Knesset's force-feeding law of prisoners on hunger strikers in 2015.
The Israeli authorities also approved a more severe punishment on the stone-throwers, compelling the courts to sentence them to a minimum of two years and a maximum of four years imprisonment.
