Israel Sunday released 12-year-old prisoner Dima al Wawi, the youngest female Palestinian prisoner held in the prisons of the occupation authority.
Head of the Palestinian Committee for Prisoners Affairs, Issa Qaraqea, said in a statement that Wawi, a resident of the West Bank village of Halhoul, near Hebron, was set free by the occupation army this morning at a military checkpoint south of the city of Tulkarim.
Qaraqea said she was arrested by the occupation forces near her school on Feb. 9 on charges of holding a knife. An Israeli military court sentenced her to a jail term of four months and a half and a bail bond of 8,000 Israeli shekels ($2,000).
