Israeli attacks on Gaza continue, Al-Qassam strikes back
Gaza - Arab Today

Israeli media on Thursday afternoon said that three mortar shells have been dropped on the Gaza-Israeli border east of Rafah, southern Gaza strip, after a series of attacks on Gaza.

Since Wednesday morning, IOF bombard an Al-Qassam brigade site in Gaza and other civilian areas, causing injuries to five Palestinians, including elders and children after alleged shelling on their borders.

The attacks continued until Thursday afternoon, when Israeli media said that the Al-Qassam responded to the attacks with mortar shells that stroke Sofa military point, east of Rafah.

On Thursday as well, Israel claimed to have discovered a 100-meter-long tunnel, which leads to an Israeli settlement close to southern Gaza.

BETHLEHEM, May 5, 2016 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Thursday detained 14 Palestinians, including at least three minors for alleged stabbing attempts and one at a Gaza border crossing, said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS) and WAFA correspondent.

Israeli soldiers detained four Palestinians from Bethlehem, three others from Hebron, four others from Jerusalem, another two from Ramallah and Jenin.

Leading tracking dogs, Israeli soldiers detained four Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their family houses in Beit Fajjar town, south of Bethlehem. The detainees were identified as Ahmad Thwabteh, 21, Fayez Taqatqa, 19, Omar Taqatqa, 20, and Muhammad Taqatqa, 21.

Israeli forces detained three Palestinians, including two from Beit Ummar, north of Hebron city, who were identified as Talal Abu Sneineh as well as Hatem Sabarna, 21, and his brother, Ali, 20, both from Beit Ummar.

During the predawn raid, forces handed Wasim Sabarna, 22, an order to appear for interrogation.

Meanwhile, Israeli police detained four Palestinians, including three minors, from Jerusalem.  Police detained Aya Al-Hindi, 17, a volunteer with the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS) from al-Issawiya, following an alleged stabbing attempt.

WAFA correspondent reported that al-Hindi was brutally assaulted by Israeli police at al-Wad Street in Jerusalem’s Old City allegedly for possessing a knife.

Police also detained Tarek al-Samman and Omar Mona, 15, following an alleged stabbing attempt in northern Jerusalem.

Several hours afterwards, police detained Wesam Hamudeh, an ambulance crew, after storming his house at Aqabet al-Saraya in Jerusalem’s Old City.

Israeli forces detained Atef al-Salhi, 44, during an ambush in Silwad town, northeast of Ramallah.

Forces also detained Shadi Salah, 25, from the Jenin town of Kafr Dan in the northern West Bank. Salah was detained at a flying Israeli military checkpoint at Jenin-Nablus Road.

This came as Israeli soldiers detained an injured Palestinian at a border crossing in the northern Gaza. Muhammad al-Bahisi was detained while he was crossing Erez border crossing on his way to receive medical treatment in West Bank hospitals.

Al-Bahisi decided to head to a West Bank hospital after Israeli forces granted him approval via Palestinian Civil Affairs Department.
